(1) Advantages
1. Corrosion-resistant, no rust
Fiberglass gratings can withstand varying degrees of corrosion from gases and liquid media such as acids, alkalis, organic solvents, and salts. Different resin types can also be selected according to different occasions and usage requirements.
2. Anti-fatigue
Fiberglass grating can be bent repeatedly without permanent deformation.
3. Lightweight and high strength
FRP grating is light in weight, and the density of FRP grating is about one-fourth that of steel. The formed FRP profile has a high glass fiber content, and has good one-way specific strength and specific stiffness.
4. Security
It has excellent electrical insulation, no impact and no electromagnetism under 10KV voltage, and can be used in equipment that is sensitive to magnetism; the special structure of the fiberglass grating is also anti-slip and anti-fatigue.
5. Can be customized as needed, bright colors
Fiberglass gratings come in various colors, have good visual effects, and can also have a certain warning effect.
(2) Disadvantages
1. Compared with ordinary carbon steel, the overall cost of FRP grating is lower. Although its one-time investment is higher than that of ordinary carbon steel, its one-time investment is higher and many users may be more concerned about the price. However, due to its long service life, which can generally be used for 20 years without maintenance, its comprehensive economic benefits are still high.
2. FRP grating has no recycling value. Since there is no clear recycling of FRP in the industry, the development of the FRP industry has been restricted to a certain extent.
